This year’s annual Juneteenth Celebration pays tribute to the generations of Hip-Hop artists who provided a narrative soundtrack to the lived experiences of Black and Brown communities. This Juneteenth, we celebrate their brilliance and acknowledge the work left to be done in order to achieve true equality.
Our Juneteenth Concert, an Ode to 50 years of Hip Hop, is a celebration of the emergence and a renewed commitment to community, inclusion, and equality.
We have chosen to celebrate 50 Years of Hip Hop by highlighting the global and local economic impact of this contemporary cultural movement. Our celebration will be on full display through a variety of experiences centered around the five keystones of Hip-Hop: the Music & Rhythm (the DJ), the Economics (the Bag), the Fashion (the drip), the Graffiti (the live art), the Inclusion and Diversity of the movement. Our homage to Classic Hip Hop will attract attendees, throughout Florida and across the nation, to celebrate with us here in Fort Lauderdale, the Venice of America.
